| July 15 | Monthly HOPS meeting - HOPS meeting at HomeSweet Homebrew. We are making plans for HOPS-BOPS 1998. It will probably be a 'transitional' competition, leading to the moving of HOPS-BOPS to the spring for 1999. |
| July 16 | HOPS at the Mann - HOPS will be going to the Mann Center for the Performing Arts on July 16th for the Philadelphia Orchestra. Due to a recent revamping of ticket distribution rules, we will no longer be able to get free tickets. To acquire tickets,. please send in the coupon appearing in the Philadelphia Inquirer/ Daily News on Thursday, June 25th. Otherwise, lawn seats may be purchased for $8. | July 19 | HOPS Bike Ride -
Pub Crawl/Bike Ride. Join us as we tool around the
River Drives, bask in the sun, enjoy some tasty libations and good
company. We will begin at Manayunk Brewing Company at noon. Car
Parking is available at the public lots along the canal. From
Manayunk, it's an easy ride along the West River Drive into Center
City (distance 16 miles) and the Dock Street Brewery and Restaurant,
approximately 2 PM. From Dock St., we will ride to the designated
picnic area on the West River Drive, for
refreshments and side rides. The West River Drive is closed to
vehicular traffic till 5 PM, but is open to cars at Montgomery Drive,
to the parking areas only. Those that do not ride can enjoy the River
Drive's closing for roller blading, walks, and other recreational
activities. Dogs, children, Frisbees, etc. welcome.
12 NOON UNTIL ? PREREGISTRATION IS REQUESTED. LIABILITY RELEASE AND HELMETS ARE REQUIRED TO RIDE. Free to HOPS members, $5 donation requested of guests.
