May 1 HOPS First Friday
First Friday in Olde City with open galleries and the almost monthly potluck dinner at the ERG office (Peter Hecht). All HOPS members are invited to our get togethers and children are welcome. The doors open at 6:00 pm or so and we go to around 11pm. Come and see the art or just hang out eat, drink, and be merry. The normal contingent is 30-50 people each month. The only requirement is to bring something for the potluck dinner. The address is 124 North Third Street, 2nd floor. Just come in the front door and ring the buzzer by the glassed door to be let up. HOPS SWAPS at Steve and Gwen's 431 Valley Road, #2 Melrose Park (Elkins Park), Bring anything you no longer want or need to trade for something else you want or need. Drink the Mai Bock we brewed in December while you haggle. Bring the truck!
Wort Hoppened
  • Around 20 people attended.
  • Drambue(sp?), Italian, Southwest, and Jamaican sausages made my Nancy and others, as well as marinated chicken were grilled over fresh rosemary by the ever vigilent Mitch.
  • Desert was two kinds of brownies, Kristy's Krunch, Barbara's way chocolate pie, somebody's apple pie, and somebody's cheese cake.
  • The two club brews were present and accounted for. A little on the heavy side for day long consumption. Steve also had an excellent belgian on tap.
  • Gwen Picked up a nice pedestial for the Elvis bust.
  • Steve Seymore walked home with a nice grain mill.
  • An excellent selection of home brew was on hand.
