Best of Philly Homebrew Competition

(34th in a Series)

A BJCP Sanctioned Event

Sponsored by Home Sweet Homebrew

Win a chance to have your beer brewed professionally

This year's HOPS BOPS competition serves as a qualifying round for three different, and distinct, competitions where the winner will have their beer brewed professionally by either Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Yards Brewing Company, or Free Will Brewing Company. Some of the beers could be used as the brewery's entry in the Pro-Am category of the GABF.

Winners of the selected categories listed below will be invited to pour their beers at the premier homebrewing event, the Extreme Homebrew Challenge, during Philly Beer Week in 2019 sponsored by Dogfish Head, Home Sweet Homebrew, and Jose Pistola's. Entrants will need to provide either one case of bottles or one half-filled five-gallon Corny keg (and set-up) for the event. Beer can be re-brewed for the event. At the event, Sam (or his designated appointee) will select a brewer to venture down to Dogfish Head and co-brew the beer with his staff. This beer will then be poured at a future Great American Beer Festival where it will be judged with other Pro Am beers.

Only beers in the following categories are eligible to participate:
  1. 21B Specialty IPA
  2. 24 Belgian Ale
  3. 25 Strong Belgian Ale
  4. 26 Trappist Ale
  5. 27 Historical Beer
